Two brothers brutally beat a man with the leg of a wooden chair after
accusing him of staring at their sister, authorities said yesterday.
Heim Sankari, 20, and Natan Sankari, 19, accosted the 32-year-old victim
on Ocean Parkway and Avenue S in Gravesend at 5:36 p.m. Saturday,
sources said.
A security guard in the area called 911 while the suspects fled.
Armed with descriptions, police scoured the neighborhood and arrested
the brothers nearby on assault charges.
The victim, who is Jewish, initially refused to be taken by ambulance to
the hospital citing religious reasons related to Yom Kippur. But he was later
taken to Coney Island Hospital to be treated for cuts and a broken nose.
